The word "处" means to hide or stop. "处暑" means that the summer heat will recede and hide away, and the autumn atmosphere will gradually become stronger.
The Beginning of Autumn (Chushu) falls in early autumn, so it's advisable to eat more fruits and vegetables and less spicy, fried, or grilled foods.
After the Beginning of Autumn, the weather begins to change from hot to cool.
Tea drinking habits should also be adjusted with the changing seasons, with a focus on "nourishing" the body. Yuan Rong suggests that you can drink oolong tea, Pu'er tea (ripe tea), black tea, and other teas that are good for the stomach.
